Ezra's Blessing

Ezra got his baby blessing this weekend. It was a neat experience. Shawn's parents and Lori were able to come down, and it was good to spend some more time with them. Doesn't he look adorable in his outfit that grandma made? He was good for the blessing, I think he slept through most of it, but that's okay.

Good morning mama...

He's starting to sleep longer at night. It was weird this morning waking up around 6 and realizing that we hadn't been up since 11:30 the night before. It will be nice if he keeps that up. We'll see though. He's smiling a lot more and trying to talk. His favorite friend to talk to now is Mr. Ceiling Fan, though the potted plant might be in contention for his favorite.

Susan was at the store tonight, and called. I put her on speaker phone because I was doing stuff with Ezra. He got really confused because he heard mom's voice, but couldn't figure out where she was. He started talking back to her a bit, but then made a sad face when we hung up.

Growing and growing

The week and a half has been fairly uneventful, other than Ezra still growing. Its amazing how big he has grown in such a short time really. Just looking back at pictures of him a month ago, there is a pretty decent change. He's been sleeping in a bit longer spurts at night, though he still manages to wake us up fairly often. The good thing is that when he's actually awake, he seems to entertain himself pretty well. He continues to "talk" more and more. He's been working on trying to push himself up a bit more when we put him on his tummy, but gets frustrated sometimes because he can't crawl around yet. When he finally gets that figured out, we're in for it, because he is pretty curious. Enough talking, on to the pictures:

He sleeps in all sorts of random positions, like this one.

Its really hard to get a picture of him really smiling. He gets a big grin on his face, and by the time you get the camera its gone. Here's a bit of an attempt at getting a smiling picture. You can see his dimple at least!
Here's him yesterday in an outfit that we got as a gift. We were surprised that he actually left the visor on. He normally takes any sort of hat off right as you put it on him, but he didn't seem to mind this one.
A happy mom and her boy.

Wedding and whatnot

This last couple of weeks has been quite eventful. We went out to NM for Kelly's wedding. It was really fun to see everyone, and to see my sister get married in at the temple in Albuquerque.

But even though her last name has changed, she's still Kelly.

Ezra has been getting big, he's like 11 1/2 lbs now. Craziness! Everyone was really excited to see him. He's been going through some growth spurts, so he has been eating and sleeping more.

The good thing is that he's starting to be a lot more alert and interacting with things around him. Its great to hear him "talk" to everything around him (not really talking per se, but making noises).
The most interesting is the fake cry that he learned. It sounds like he's crying but then you look at him and he just looks back at you with a weird look on his face and/or a smile.

Long Time, No Post....

So its been a while since we've posted anything. We've been a bit busy again. Thankfully this weekend we have some time to recooperate.

Ezra has been growing a lot. He's about 9lbs 12oz now.

Kelly's wedding is this next weekend, so that will be a good excuse to get away from everything for a while. We'll just see how long the drive takes us. Who knows, he could sleep the whole way...... right..... :P

Enough talking, onto the pictures:

Memories

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

I thought this was cute! Have fun!

The joys of being awake...

So we haven't really posted anything for a week, but we've been a little bit busy, though I can't imagine why :P
Its been a decent amount of work with Ezra, but he's a good kid, and relatively calm (except when he's hungry, then he gets really excitable).

Susan's parents were able to come out for the weekend of the 4th, and that was nice to have 4 more hands around the house to help with everything. Of course, Ezra got a little spoiled, since there was always someone holding him the whole weekend. He's slowly getting used to not having someone hold him all the time. The first day after they left, he would fall asleep with Susan holding him, but then just wake right back up when she tried to put him down so that she couldn't do anything. That's pretty normal though.

He's been gaining weight fairly quickly. He's gained almost a full pound this last week and is an inch taller than he was last week. Not bad huh? He's awake a lot more now too, and starting to notice things around him a lot more.

Liz, Brian, Gwen, Aubrie, and Valerie came to see us today. It was nice to see them, and we'll probably see more of Liz & Brian and their kids since we're all out in AZ.

EZRA IS HOME!!!

Ezra got to come home on Tuesday. We've been a bit busy with him, so posting anything has kind of taken a back seat to everything else. Everything is fine with him now, there's just one more test that they were waiting on results from, and nobody seemed overly concerned about it, so we'll see when they come back.

He's done a good job of keeping us up at night. He seems to be especially alert between the hours of 2AM and noon. Hopefully we can get that to shift a bit so that it starts at more like 6 or 7, but we'll see. Regardless, its been nice to finally have him home. Constant trips to the hospital kind of wear on a person. He's gaining more and more coordination everyday, which is interesting to watch.
